Class : Wild
Jungles : Nagaland Jungles of Rangapahar, Dimapur, and Jalousie Co-distillation
Distilled : June/July 2020, Stainless - 7 Day Clean Non-Barnyard Soak - Hydrodistilled
Rangapahar, Dimapur, and Jalukie border on one another in the foothills of the Kalakass mountains of Nagaland, not from from Japvo Peak.
Was able to make a nice little batch of high grade oil exclusively from shavings of prime wild wood. Took some time to collect them, and then was able to juice them in June and July of 2020.

If you've been following my work or writing, you know I'm a big fan of Tea notes in Oud oils. I find a LOT of terroire crossover in teas and agarwoods, and the oils we produce from them. When we manage to tease out tea notes from the woods ... it makes for one happy JK !
Our 2019 batch of Nagaland oil, Naganchi, has been a huge success due to the rich floral notes which Nagaland is often famous for. (Naganchi is even a key ingredient in 2020 Art and Olfaction Award Finalist "Rasa", by Pomare's Stolen Perfume)
Contrasted agains RDJ - what we have here is a lightly floral milkiness - reminding me a bit of floral formosa Oolong teas with a malty, almost English Breakfast backbone with hints of cherries and tobacco. It's as if we made a batch of Formosa Milk Tea with a dash of Imperial English Breakfast, with wafts from the hookah bar next door lingering in the air. All we are missing is the Boba !
If you love Hindis - RDJ 2020 needs to be on your hit list !
