Pomme du Soleil is French for Oranges - known as the "Golden Apples of the Sun".
Orange trees produce a jewel of a fragrance known as Neroli or Orange Blossom.
I spent 5 years with the scent of Orange Blossoms wafting through my bedroom door from the trees in my backyard of the house I lived while in medical school in San Diego. Those five years reminded me of my time living in Provence, in southern France in the medieval city of Avignon - a city redolent with the scent of Orange Blossoms and savory herbs.
THE SCENT
In creating Pomme du Soleil Attar, I wanted to capture the feeling of the soft morning air, wafting in through your window, warm, delicate, sweet, laden with the intoxicating fragrance of orange trees in bloom.
The bitter orange tree offers us a sweet bounty of various essences:
- The distilled oil of the flowers is known as Neroli
- The solvent extracted flowers are known as Orange Blossom Absolute
- The Flowers, twigs and leaves distilled together are known as Neroli sur Fleure
- The distilled twigs and leaves are known as Petit-grain
All of these various ingredients were incorporated in the creation of this Attar.
In addition, I've included a touch of Jasmine (it wouldn't be high class perfumery without Jasmine, right!?), a hint of Tonka Bean for sweetness, and is grounded into custom distilled Mysore Sandalwood and a touch of Cambodian Oud to add sophistication.
This oil is much more *French* than my normal offerings - which err more towards the Near and Far East in their inspiration. If you are more accustomed to Western-style fragrances (although this is still Attar style, and not alcohol based) - this scent spectrum may feel a little more familiar.
With that being said...this Attar will blow your socks off like all of my other oils do, as I've gone out of my way to sophisticate it the way that you have come to expect from my work.

"Gorgeous citrus florals. This was academically fun for me, because I've spent a lot of time with the individual oils of neroli, petitgrain, and orange blossom (from Eden Bot.) doing my best to pick apart their unique characteristics and learning to differentiate between them. I can smell a bit of all of them in here - something one can't really do in western citrus perfumes, mainly because no one uses real, and cost-prohibitive, neroli, which is a shame because damn, it's so beautiful. One of the cleanest and...just "prettiest" smells I've encountered, and I'm normally bored to death with citrus scents."
